Letter in response to proposed SNAP rule change

Southwest NM Food Policy Council, 2014.

NCFC works with the Southwest New Mexico Food Policy Council to address food policy issues in four frontier New Mexico counties.

In August 2014, the NM Secretary of Human Services proposed a change to the state’s Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) employment and training requirements that would have had a disproportionate negative impact on frontier communities. The Council submitted the letter below asking the secretary to withdraw the rule change. The rule change was withdrawn in October 2014.
