National Center for Frontier Communities, 2014.
The National Center for Frontier Communities has been at the forefront of disseminating information about and gathering comments on the “frontier and remote” (FAR) methodology for identifying frontier areas. In this letter to the Office of Rural Health Policy, we provide input on
- Determining the impact of using FAR designations for specific programs and comparing FAR with other Frontier definitions
- Developing a process through which frontier places can report erroneous classification, present updated documentation of local eligibility, and apply for reconsideration of their frontier status, and;
- Providing consultation, tools and trainings in frontier communities on how to use the FAR dataset.
