Advocating for frontier health systems is an integral part of our work and mission at NCFC. . To ensure we have the best information available, we partner with the National Organization of State Offices of Rural Health (NOSORH) and the Federal Office of Rural Health Policy to bring frontier health system experts from all corners of the nation together to explore the most pressing and relevant issues.
Our goal is to identify successful frontier models and efforts, policy issues and barriers to creating a vital frontier health system. NCFC uses the information from the meetings to take action to help preserve the integrity of frontier health systems and allow other advocates and supporters to join in.
In 2017 we explored such topics as frontier demographics, the Community Health Worker training systems in the states of Washington and Montana, the potential impacts of Affordable Care Act repeal in the frontier, the future of public health systems in frontier and more. You can view the presentations from the 2017 meeting here.
In 2016 we focused on behavioral health, you can view the presentations here.
In 2015 we looked at innovators in frontier health. You can view presentations here.
